Nottingham Border Fancy Canary Club was formed in 1976 and started its life known as Annesley Border Fancy Canary club it was started by Local men Ken Elkington and the late Noel Weaver, other members at the time were John Denton, Albert Homes(current Club Secretary & Treasuer) the late Mr & Mrs R Jackson, George worrall along with many more members.
The first show took place in December 1976 John Denton was show Manager. In 1977 the members agreed to hold the Open show on the fourth weekend in October and it was a 2 day show birds were staged on a friday evening and the show ran Saturday & Sunday.
The Members show was staged on the first week of December but was soon altered to the last week in November due to clashing with the National Cage & Aviary Exhibition held on the same weekend.
